Be A Good Neighbour
COR Community Pastoring is a platform for COR to be a good neighbour to the communities within our reach by forming friendships and helping the needy to uplift lives and win hearts for Jesus.
We do so through 360 community engagement with key partners, including Good News Community Services (GNCS), Saint Andrew’s Village (SAV) stakeholders (the 3 Anglican parishes, SAV Schools, and SA Hall), Potong Pasir Community Club and community stakeholders such as local businesses.

OUR INITIATIVES
1. BEFRIENDING SENIORS
There are around 2,600 senior citizens (above 65 years of age) staying in Potong Pasir. We are recruiting volunteers to reach out to these seniors, many of whom are staying alone. Join us in our activities.
Happy Saturday
This is a monthly social gathering for the residents in Potong Pasir organized by St Andrew’s Community Projects, the community service initiative of the parishes in St Andrew’s Village. Through fun and interactive activities, residents socialise while learning new skills.

Visitation
We organise regular visits to the homes of some of these seniors to befriend them and ensure they are doing well in their daily life.
Home Improvement Projects
We provide help to seniors such as house cleaning, painting, simple handywork etc.
How you can support
Volunteer as befrienders and help to organise at Happy Saturday. Join us to visit the residents in their homes and help out with home improvement projects.
2. EMPOWERING CHILDREN
GNCS partners Football Plus to support one of its programmes – Champion Unlimited. This is a year-long, holistic value-based football program designed for children and youth (6-16 years old) from disadvantaged background. Click here to visit Football Plus website.

Monetary Contribution

Bursary Program - Players with exemplary character who have shown good progress will be nominated for bursary awards. This will provide their families with additional financial support. The bursary is valued at $600 per award. You can make your donation through GNCS here.
2. Volunteer with us:
-
Mentors – Befriend players to help them set and achieve goals. Mentors meet players fortnightly over 16 weeks. Training and curriculum will be provided.

Tutors* –provide tuition to the players weekly. Indicate your preferred timeslot in the registration form and Football Plus will work out a suitable schedule.
*Tutoring programs are held at Football Plus premises in Sennett Estate (opposite The Poiz).
3. COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Good News Community Services is collaborating with Potong Pasir CC to conduct needs assessment within the Bidadari Estate to identify the type(s) of activities and services that will meet the residents’ needs.

How can you support?
We are recruiting volunteers to conduct door-to-door surveys with residents staying in 2-room and 3-room units in Alkaff Lakeview and Courtview (total 786 units) over the months of September and October 2022. Training will be provided.
